Arab Cities Team Ch. & Arab Indv. Ch. U14-16 in Abu Dhabi , 3-11
Aug. 2002 . Invitations have been sent to all Arab chess federations
to participate in this annual event. The last date to confirm
participation is 3 July 2002 . Al Khalidya Palace hotel will host
the two tournaments.

NIDO Arab Championship for children 2002 (Abu Dhabi 7-17 July)
UAECF and NIDO are
ready to host Arab Ch. for children U10-12 in Abu Dhabi , 7-17 July
2002. UAECF held a press conference yesterday at Abu Dhabi Grand
Continental hotel , where Mr. Hussein Khouri, Vice-President of the
UAECF, declared the agreement with the hotel to be the venue of the
event. June 7 is the last date for Arab federations to confirm their
participation in the event, which is sponsored by NIDO for the third
year . Mr.Christian Abboud - NIDO brand manager - said that another
press conference will be on 25 June to declare the final
preparations , the participants and details of the opening ceremony
on July 8.
12th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival (Abu Dhabi
12-21 Aug. 2002)
a) Master Tournament (Rated
players) : Swiss System 9 rounds , Time limit is 90 Minutes for each
player to finish the game with extra 30 seconds for each move from
the start.
b)Open Tournament (Rated +
Unrated Players) ,Swiss System of 9 rounds . Time limit 90 minutes
for the entire game with unlimited moves.
c) Children tournament open for
children's from up to 12 years old , Swiss System of 7 Rounds ,Time
limit is 60 minutes .For each player with unlimited moves.
Our delegation returned back from
Tehran after participation in the Asian Individual Ch. U16,14,12
& U10. The delegation was headed by Mr. Hussein Khouri,
Vice-president of UAECF . Our player Saeed Ishaq finished in the
fouth place in category U10.
