ADOC’s Chess Tournament

17-22 September 2007

Organized by : Abu Dhabi Chess & Culture Club

 Participation Rules:

-Participation is open for all players (men –Under 16) + ladies

- Games will start daily at 9.30 Pm in Armed Forces Officers Club in Al-Khalirj Al-Arabi Street .

Tournament system:

-Swiss System, 9 Rounds (Rapid) .

-Time limit is 30 minutes + 10 second each move each player

-Pairing and tie break by (swissmanager  ) program.

- FIDE rules is applied, unless it is not mentioned above.

-Accommodation offers will be announced later on our website WWW.abudhabichess.com

Closing Ceremony on Saturday  22.09. 2007 at 11.30 pm

23 Grandmaster compete in Strong Field

70 players include 23 Grandmaster, 5 Women Grandmaster, 11 International Master, 3 Women International Master, 12 FIDE Master and 1 Women FIDE Master, from 22 countries India, UAE, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Armenian, Egypt, Russia, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Belarus, Hungary, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, Turkmenistan and Vietnam start their competition in 17th Abu Dhabi Master Tournament.

Top seed Grandmaster Evgeni Miroshichenko from Ukraine with FIDE rating 2671 is player No.1  and Baadur Jobava from Georgia with FIDE rating 2644 is player No. 2.

Invitation

The Organizing committee of the 17^th  Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival has the honor to invite you to participate in this prestigious event which includes several FIDE rated tournaments, The program is as follows:

Venue

The Festival is held in Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, Capital of United Arab Emirates

      d) Blitz Tournament / Simultaneous Match  

Participation :

-          Participation in 17^th  Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival is Open for all players.

-          The participating players shall pay the accommodation expenses during the festival.

-          The personally invited Grandmasters with an Elo rating of above 2600 (1/7/2007) will be provided free accommodation with 3 meals ( in hotel ) – The personally invited Grandmaster with an Elo rating between (2500-2599 ) will be provided free accommodation in double rooms and will have to share the room with anther Grandmaster ( there is limited number of rooms available, and the priority will be given to the earliest registration players )

-          The personality Invited Grandmasters are provided accommodation one day prior  to the inauguration and one day after the closing ceremony of the festival .

-          Organizing committee will arrange entry visa and hotel booking for the other participants( They have to pay the accommodation expenses during the period of festival .

Tournaments System & Time Control

a)     Master tournament:(Elo +2200)  Swiss System,9 rounds , 90 Minutes for each player to finish the game with extra 30 seconds for each move form the start ( Fischer System )

b)     Open Tournament: (Rated + Unrated players - 2200) , Swiss System , 9 Rounds. 90 Minutes for the entire game with unlimited moves.

c)     ) Children Tournament  open for Children’s up to 12 years old,  Swiss System 8 Rounds, 60 minutes. For each player with unlimited moves.

Last round for master tournament will be on Tue 20.08.07  @ 10.00 am - closing ceremony same day  @  7.00 pm 

Entry visa to UAE :

 The organizing committee will provide entry Visa to UAE for visitor players with ELO rating , please  fill the registration form and Fax it before 20 /7/2007 , with a copy of valid passport.

How to Reach Abu Dhabi ?

Abu Dhabi International airport, will be the main port for visitor participants, Beside Dubai and Sharjah International Air ports.

Transportation

local transportation to the official hotels  and venue of festival will be arranged for visitor player.

UAE currency

The Dirham is the official currency in UAE .. Current Dollar  exchange is 3.68 DHS

Time in UAE:

(GMT+4).

Weather:

In August, the weather in UAE is hot and humid, suitable for swimming in the early morning hours
